Everyone looks for discount luggage when they need to make replacements - and usually it’s right before a trip and they need it soon. If you’re lucky, you might be able to find good discounts just by stopping by your favorite retailer. But chances are, their normal luggage sales won’t happen exactly when you need it and you may end up paying full retail (ouch!).
While most people don’t think of used luggage as a viable alternative to brand new, it is a fantastic way to get top quality luggage at discounts ordinarily not found in department stores. You could upgrade to a brand you wouldn’t be able to afford - or wouldn’t want to pay full price for - simply by purchasing a set from someone who doesn’t what it anymore.
And buying used luggage doesn’t mean it’s scuffed and worn out. Somtimes “used” luggage still has the purchase tags on it. Anyone who’s bought clothing on sale should understand this concept quite well. Although you won’t always hit the jackpot - it’s worth checking out because you just might.
