Rome We Love You

If you’re planning on visiting Rome this winter, then there are certain things you should know about. To make the most of this beautiful city, have a look at the following guide to the must attend events, sights and festivals this coming winter.
To start with what is considered the most obvious event of the winter for most, Christmas; Rome really is a place you want to be. The city’s biggest square, Piazza Navona, holds a Christmas market each year that is guaranteed to have you singing along to ‘Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer’ in no time. There will be all kinds of Christmas stalls and goodies to be had and you can enjoy the beautiful Presepi (that’s nativity scenes to me and you) set up by the locals. There will even be special visits from Santa Clause and Befana (a benevolent old woman who flies through the Mediterranean to give out presents to good little girls and boys).
Until the 10th of December, the Romaeuropa festival will be making its annual appearance in the city of lights. This event is a celebration of the music, theatre and dance talent across the globe and will be entertaining its guests with performances from contemporary and traditional talents coming from various different countries. This event already started last month and will be continuing until the beginning of November, perfect if you’re going on that weekend away to Rome.
The Mickey Mouse Magic Show is coming to Rome. Held at Rome’s PalaLottomatica, children and adults alike can enjoy the magical show from the 3rd to the 8th of December. Giving tribute to the most famously magical characters of Disney, the show will be concentrating on performances from Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella. The cast of the show couldn’t be more impressive, which gives adults more of an incentive to take the kids along; expect to see the likes of Jim Steinmeyer (who has worked with David Copperfield, Lance Burton and Siegfried & Roy), Brad Ross and Alex Gonzales. So let Disney cast a spell on you.
So there you have it, three wonderful reasons to visit Rome this winter. To be sure that you’re making the most out of your visit and to avoid disappointment, make sure you book your accommodation (alojamiento Roma) well ahead of time. Apartments (apartamentos Roma) and hotels (hotel en Roma) in this city tend to get booked up quite fast. Enjoy your time in this grat city - you wont be disappointed.
